Consistency is said to have two major factors associated with it.
(1) It "informs" Google and other search engines when you have new content. Their algorithms can then index the new content, which can help you get ranked higher on the search engine.
(2) It gives your audience a known day and time that you publish so they know when to come back and consume more content you've written.
